Join us for our Annual General Meeting (AGM) to review the 2024 season and discuss plans for the upcoming 2025 OSFL and OFFL seasons.

Board Elections

Several board positions are up for election. Interested members are encouraged to submit their nominations to info@scarboroughthunderfootball.com. Please note that attendance at the AGM is required to be eligible to run for a position.

The following positions are currently open for election. Each role plays a vital part in the leadership and operations of the organization, ensuring its continued success and growth. Candidates elected to these positions will be responsible for fulfilling the duties outlined in their respective roles and contributing to the overall mission and vision of the Scarborough Thunder. Elections will be conducted following the Scarborough Thunder's bylaws, and all members in good standing are eligible to vote.

Nominations for President (2-Year Term) (Must be a previous board member and have fulfilled a two-year term)
President
The President shall chair the Board meetings and the Annual General Meeting (AGM). He/she, or a designated representative, shall represent the SMFA at external meetings and events. Additionally, the President will assume any other duties assigned by the Board as needed. The President is also responsible for establishing the organization's Emergency Action Plan (EAP). 

Nominations for General Manager (2-Year Term) (1 Year remaining) – Vacant
General Manager
The General Manager will act as the channel of communication between the Leagues and the SMFA Board and Membership. The General Manager will be the channel of Communication with all Team Managers and Governors and the SMFA Board. The General Manager will work with the President in the recruitment and selection of Head Coaches.

Nominations for Vice President of Operations (2-Year Term)
Vice President of Operations
The Vice President of Operations shall chair meetings in the absence of the President. This role includes overseeing team and individual photography, managing the purchase of team and individual trophies, and securing indoor and outdoor facilities for games and practices, including obtaining necessary permits. The Vice President of Operations is also responsible for arranging Officials, Trainers, and team transportation as required.

Nominations for Treasurer (2-Year Term)
Treasurer
The Treasurer is responsible for managing the SMFA’s financial accounts, handling payments and receipts under the authority of the Board of Directors, and applying for sponsorships or funding to support SMFA operations. Additionally, the Treasurer must submit regular financial reports to the Board and ensure proper registration and payment with the Provincial Governing Body (Football Ontario) at the start of the fiscal year.

Nominations for Coaching Director (2-Year Term)
Coaching Director
The Coaching Director serves as a liaison between the SMFA Board and the coaching staff. Working closely with the General Manager and President, the Coaching Director is responsible for the recruitment and selection of Head Coaches. This role ensures that all coaches meet necessary training requirements and collaborate with the General Manager to coordinate any outstanding training. The Coaching Director will also work with Head Coaches to promptly fill any vacant coaching positions. Additionally, the Coaching Director oversees the development and implementation of the organization-wide playbook and naming conventions.
